Tejas deploys network for Dhaka TelePhone

BANGALORE, INDIA: Tejas Networks, an enabler of high-performance telecom infrastructure, deployed nation-wide network for Dhaka TelePhone, a Bangladesh-based telecom provider.

Dhaka TelePhone would built the network using Tejas’ TJ100 range of Next Gen-SDH/SONET platforms, specifically for backhauling wireless network.

Anil Batra, president, sales, marketing & support, Tejas Networks, said: "Overall Tejas perceives Bangladesh as a rapidly growing market and looks forward to providing products and continued support to this market.”

Md. Haroon Al Atahar, general manager, technical division, Dhaka TelePhone, said: "Dhaka Telephone has a robust network and is actively planning a larger network to reach out to the rural areas at a reasonably low cost and thereby increases the tele-density throughout the country. We are pleased to work with Tejas Networks and their technology has aided us in our mission to provide cost-effective services by reducing capex and opex."
