NEW DELHI: Prashant Sahni, the CEO of Delhi-based Tecnovate eSolutions has decided to quit the company after selling his stake in the company to American travel conglomerate, Cendant Corp.

Cendant had last year acquired eBookers, the company that had the majority ownership of Tecnovate. Sahni, who started the company in July 2001, owned a minority stake.

Sahni, however, will continue for the next three months. "I have informed my decision to Cendant," said Sahni, speaking to Global Outsourcing. "I love the entrepreneurial challenge. Growing Tecnovate from 1000 to 5000 people is a challenge, but is more managerial than entrepreneurial," he said. "I have not yet decided my next course of action but would like build something," he said, adding that he would prefer to be based in India. "India is where all the excitement is now," he said.

Cendant owns such major businesses as American travel portal Orbitz, European portal eBookers, UK based agency Gullivers Travels, car rental companies Avis and Budget, hotels like Ramada.

There has been a lot of action by major travel groups like Cendant, SABRE, and IAC/Interactive in offshoring to India, according to a report by Global Outsourcing.
