NEW DELHI: Tecknowledge Consultants, a software development, systems
integration and consultancy firm, has launched a Java-based customer/account
specific integrated banking automation solution for the banking sector. Branded
‘Universal Banker’, it is net enabled and supports internet banking
providing facilities like deposit, withdrawal, payment, management information,
inter-account transactions and issue of cheque book. The software allows bank
officials to open a new account for the customer and issue a card, which has the
PIN number and the customer ID.

‘Universal Banker’ also facilitates payments for utilities like
electricity, water, telephone etc. The payment can be made through the Internet
from any city. Security, which is a major concern in the banking sector, has
been given special emphasis in this package with additional facilities such as
user access, information sensoring, manipulation of transaction on the Net,
recovery, and back-up among others.

For providing "Home Banking" facilities, the company has also
developed an online telebanking solution called ‘Telebanking’, which
supports pulse and tone dialing, is multilingual in nature and can
simultaneously handle multiple channels, and only after checking the identity of
the caller allows the access to information. Said Dr Manoj Saxena, Director,
Tecknowledge Consultants, "Both the applications will use the same database
and provide similar facilities. This allows banks to introduce "Home
Banking Facility" using both Internet and telephone network."

The Delhi-based Tecknowledge Consultants is a software development, system
integration and consultancy organization with operations in South East Asia
including Thailand and Indonesia, Bhutan, UK and USA. The company has marketing
