Technopark signs MoU with Sharjah Free Zone

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, INDIA: IT hub Technopark and Sharjah's Hamariyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) on Thursday signed a pact for mutual development and promotion of IT and other industry.

Technopark CEO Mervin Alexander said the new arrangement would provide opportunities for Technopark firms to reach global customers through the Middle East market.

Speaking at the event, Rashid Al Leem, director general, Hamriyah Free Zone, said HFZA will provide total support and special benefits for Kerala companies who plan to set up operations in HFZA.

"The free zone was started 11 years back with 70 local companies. Today it has grown to house over 5,500 companies with people of 137 nationalities working," he said.
