Technopark gets SEZ for 27.5 acres of land

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Technopark, an IT park which belongs to Kerala IT, has received land possession of 92 acres in its third phase. Furthermore, Technopark has obtained SEZ approval for 27.5 acres of land in the campus as Technopark SEZ-3. Technopark is also in the process of constructing one million sq ft. of modern state-of-the-art built-up space for IT companies.

The 110 KV sub-station is already operational and work on land development, campus internal roads, water distribution, STP, canal embankment, etc, are progressing fast. Technopark is currently in the process of allotting nearly 22 acres of land in this campus to IT/ITES companies and IT Infrastructure development companies, said a press release.

Technopark is currently one of the largest IT parks in the country offering 4.5 million sq. ft. of built-up space in Phase-I campus of 156 acres. Thirty one acres in this campus is notified as a Technopark special Economic Zone-1.

Tata Consultancy Services and IBS Software Solutions P Ltd are functioning from this SEZ. Currently 170 internationally reputed companies including TCS, Infosys, Mckinsey & Co., Ernst & Young, Allianz Cornhill, UST Global, IBS, SunTec., Toonz Animation, etc, to name a few, are operating out of the campus with more than 25,000 IT/ITES professionals directly employed.

The buildings of Leela InfoPark, NeST, Tata Elxsi (2nd Phase), C-DAC, IBS (2nd Phase) etc. are also getting ready and it is expected that 45,000 IT/ITES professionals would be directly employed in this campus, said the release.

The second phase campus measuring 86 acres is being developed as Technopark Special Economic zone - II and the first state-of-the-art building of Infosys Technologies Ltd is ready. The company has already commenced operations in the 50 acres allotted to them. UST Global, one of the premier companies based in Trivandrum would be setting up their campus in the balance 36 acres as a co-developer. It is expected that 30,000 IT/ITES professionals would be directly employed in the second phase campus./
