Nishball made this observation while presenting a session called, 'Productivity and Competitive Advantage in Connected World' at the CIOL Enterprise Next, Virtual Conference today.

While making a presentation at the session, Nishball mentioned that enterprise anywhere can be driven by a few corner stones like mobility, which help in connecting remote location workers.

“Mobility could connect the world with new technologies such as 3G, which is ten times faster than 2G, WiMax etc,” he said.

Citing an example, he said that Airtel in India has delivered WiMax in 143 cities and also deployed audio and video conferencing, e-governance solutions at 13000 gram panchayats in Gujarat.

Another corner stone according to Nishball, is virtualization, which can enable wide variety of hosted applications such as ERP, data warehousing, inventory management. It can also enable small office solutions.

“There is an opportunity for hosted solutions,” he added.

Nishball suggested that these corner stones should be supported by new way of delivery and new business models, which include evolving outsourcing type models, managed services, opex-based models such as pay-as-you-go.

He further opined, “Digital services anywhere, anyplace, is what we refer to enterprise anywhere.”
