Technical snag hits HDFC Bank services

BANGALORE, INDIA: Banking transactions at HDFC Bank was hit by a technical snag this morning due to their server being down from 10.30am to 12:30pm.

Though the exact reason for technical snag is yet to be determined, officials concerned at HDFC claimed that it was due to the server being down.

Vishaal Bhatnagar, a customer of HDFC bank in New Delhi region, said: "When I visited HDFC Bank today, an employee at the cash counter was not in a position to accept the cash at the counter. When I checked the same with an official concerned, it was informed that the core banking solution was down, due to server breakdown and was likely to restored by 14:30 hrs IST."

It is reported that bank servers were down from 10:30 hrs IST and by 12:30 hrs. Later, Net Banking and Phone Banking were restored.

Bhatnagar further added that HDFC Bank servers were down since 10:30am this morning. Netbanking and Phonebanking were restored around 12:30pm, but the Branch Operations and Clearing House Services are still down.

Though there was no official announcement of the breakdown from HDFC officials, it is a matter of fact that the customers of HDFC had a tough day to start on a Monday morning.
