Tech Mahindra ties up with MS for BI solutions

MUMBAI, INDIA: Tech Mahindra, a provider of IT and consulting services, announced on Tuesday that it has entered into an alliance with Microsoft Corp. to offer Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for telecom service providers.

As a part of the initiative, Tech Mahindra will deploy Mahindra Satyam’s “iDecisionsTM for telecom” onto a Microsoft platform which will enable both companies to offer customizable BI solutions to their customers, said a press release.

The BI solutions cover all major aspects of the telecom industry decision-making spectrum and would be available on a single platform consisting of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, SharePoint 2010 and Office 2010 with a defined roadmap to move this to a cloud-based offer using Windows Azure later this year.  

Idecisions for telecom is a unique and powerful solution, which incorporates industry best practices into an analytical application suite that turns decision making from an art to a science.

The solution help to organize and analyze the complex barrage of information generated across a Telco organization to provide analytical engines for efficient analysis; help generate required reports on demand; identify the most profitable customers; assess promotional campaign effectiveness; forecast network growth; manage fraud; reduce churn and help to create a more efficient business model, the release added.
