Tech Mahindra opens IOT lab

BANGALORE: Tech Mahindra, a provider of IT services, announced the launch of an interoperatablity test (IOT) Lab to offer test services to telecom service providers (TSPs), telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs) and independent software vendors (ISVs).

The lab, established at Tech Mahindra's facilities in Bangalore, will host a variety of network infrastructure elements sourced from multiple vendors enabling it to execute IOT programmes focused at multiple technology areas. The span of technolgies include Class4/Class5 migration, fixed mobile convergence, IMS, 3G/4G wireless and packetcable/DocSIS.

Tech Mahindra has tied-up with Sonus Networks to deliver IOT programmes for Class 4 and Class 5 Softswitch and IMS based products.

L Ravichandran, executive vice president,and COO, Tech Mahindra, said: “We have been continuously evolving and broadening our R&D offerings for TEMs and TEPs in an effort to increase technology and business value delivered.”

Shalin Sehgal, vice president, products management and marketing, Sonus Networks, said: “The access services market is evolving and equipment vendors in the country need to collaborate to support interoperatability between their products for simpler, cost effective deployments.”
