MUMBAI, INDIA: Technology solutions provider and the major stake holder in Mahindra Satyam, Tech Mahindra today said that it has now enhanced its presence in Northern India by setting up its fully owned facility in Chandigarh.
The set-up will focus on providing end-to-end customer service delivery to global telecom service providers, said a press release. Spread across 15 acres, the campus will have about 1000 seats in the initial ramp up with 500 seats to start with and another 500 seats planned by the end of September 2009. This center will cater to both international and domestic clients.
Tech Mahindra started its operations in Chandigarh two years back. The company already has centers in Noida, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai and two overseas centers in Belfast and New Castle. This new campus would be equipped with world-class facilities and infrastructure, the release said.
Speaking on the occasion, Sujit Baksi, president - Corporate Affairs, Tech Mahindra, said, even in the current global environment, Tech Mahindra finds it prudent to invest in Chandigarh by building its new facility.
“Chandigarh is a preferred destination for its exceptional BPO & IT culture, state-of-the-art infrastructure, local support from the government, availability of skilled manpower and low rate of attrition. This campus allows us to spread our operations in Northern India in a big way and we are keen to tap the local talent pool in this region to make this campus a major hub,” he added.
