Teachers' Day:'My lecturer influenced my career choice'

BANGALORE, INDIA: I pursued my engineering in electronics and communication at SJCE, Mysore and one of my lecturers in engineering was very strict as well as had an in-depth knowledge of the subjects he handled.

He is N.K. Narasimha Kaulgud, who used to teach embedded systems and Linux. At that juncture, I wasn't contemplating a career in open source, but actually chose the subject to participate at a seminar series, as I was confident to learn a lot from Mr Kaulgud.

Subsequently, I landed a job in the same platform and went and met him at our college.

These days, there are no many lecturers with in-depth knowledge and those who are really good at their specializations, pick a career outside teaching. So, he was a great influence in my picking this career and continuing to do well.
