TCS sets up second campus in Hyderabad

MUMBAI, INDIA: Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) today announced the launch of its second Global Delivery Center (GDC) in Hyderabad.

The new center – Synergy Park - would be TCS’ largest facility in the city, spread over 50 acres with a capacity to accommodate 8000 people.

The company is building the campus in two phases.

The first phase is already operational while the second will commence in April.

Synergy Park is an approved Special Economic zone.

The center will serve TCS’ global customers in segments like telecommunications, media & entertainment, government, healthcare & life sciences, hi-tech, manufacturing, retail and banking & financial services with a focus on enterprise solutions, assurance services and infrastructure services as well as IT services.

"With a strong education eco-system, plentiful talent and good infrastructure, Hyderabad has emerged as a leading IT destination and the city will continue to play a significant role in our growth plans," said S Ramadorai, chief executive officer and managing director, TCS.

State chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would inaugurate the facility.

TCS set up its Hyderabad operations in Hyderabad in 1979.

The company employs over 6,000 people in the city and has partnership with the government of Andhra Pradesh to provide SmartDegree, an RFID-embedded degree certificate to check fraud for Hyderabad Central University.

TCS also assists in AP Online, the state government’s official services delivery portal.

It has also developed a Tsunami Early Warning System for the Indian National Center for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Government of India.
