NEW DELHI: Tata Consultancy Services' e-security consulting practice expects to jump to a whopping Rs 50 crore in terms of revenue as per March 2003 projections, as against a Rs 8.5 crore increase during 2001-02. Sanjay Pandey, head of the eSecurity consulting division of TCS informed this at a media gathering in New Delhi.

Pandey informed that two major contracts are coming through in the Saudi Arabia and the Mauritius markets. He also stated that TCS has formed an Internet Security Alliance with the Carnegie Mellon Cybersecurity outfit (that has pioneered the CERT initiative).

As per recent estimates, the security consulting services market is expected to grow at 26 percent to $17.2 billion in 2004 from $5.5 billion in 1999. The Asia Pacific is expected to be the fastest growing region after the US and would grow at 30 per cent.

"97 per cent of our revenue is generated from new customers. We have a 60 engineer strong research team. In the cybersecurity players we are one of the niche players and I am confident of prospects in the days to come," summed up Pandey.
