TCS, Polaris win Global Services awards

NEW YORK: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has bagged the top position in the Top 10 Best Performing IT Services Providers category in the 2007 Global Services 100 listing, the company said today in a statement.

The 2007 Global Services 100 listing is recognized by Global Services magazine, a product of CMP-CyberMedia LLC.

The award ceremony was held in New York City on January 31, 2007.

Polaris Software Lab Limited said in a separate statement that it has been named leader in the category of "Specialty Application Development."

This is the second time that Polaris has won the distinguished award, a global recognition of its status as the leading provider of specialty IT solutions to Banks, Insurance Companies and Financial Institutions worldwide.

The Global Services 100 is an annual compilation of the world's most innovative service providers selected on the basis of a research study conducted by Global Services and neoIT, an outsourcing advisory firm.

The evaluation is based upon data provided by the service providers and third parties regarding effective operations, service offerings, client relationships and human capital. Winners are selected in each of 11 categories including service-delivery areas such as business process outsourcing, IT services and customer care.
