TCS plans `apps on taps’ for software

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is evaluating possibilities of adopting the `apps-on-taps' concept, which allows a user to use software from the Internet without having to buy it and pay on per-usage basis.

If implemented, TCS would be one of the first few companies to offer the `apps-on-taps' service for the Indian software market. The model being worked out for this apps-on-taps is that the company would be charging an annual fee apart from the per usage charge that would be billed to the customer.
