MUMBAI: Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) MD, S Ramadorai was honored with the inaugural award for Promoting Indo-US Business Excellence instituted by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC).

The award was presented to Ramadorai for 'making a huge contribution to the promotion of business relations between the two countries by providing high end quality solutions and technological excellence.'

Governor of Maharashtra, Mohammed Fazal presented the award to Ramadorai at the first-ever "Indo-US Economic Summit" organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce. The citation presented by Chief Minister of Maharashtra Sushilkumar Shinde recognized Ramadorai "for being instrumental in building TCS into Asia's largest software and services company with a geographical reach of 32 countries — US being a major receiver of its services."

Receiving the award, Ramadorai said, "Every associate of TCS has played a part in this achievement. I would like to thank them for their support, as also my family. My association with the US goes back a long way to my student years and today's honor would not have come my way, but for the strong foundation I received at the UCLA and Sloan."
