CHENNAI: Tata

Consultancy Services
(TCS), will be concentrating on integration of acquired

companies, expanding the company's diversified workforce by replicating the

campus recruitment model overseas and within India during this fiscal.

Informing this to the media, S Padmanabhan, executive vice-president (Human
Resources), said the company plans to recruit 30,000 people, of which 4000 would

be for overseas operations in Hungary, Brazil and Uruguay, and in the US and

China for being employed in the IT, BPO and infrastructure services.

“We will be recruiting 800 in US, 1000 in Latin America, and the rest across
China and East Europe,” he said adding that in India 7000 were recruited in

the first quarter of FY-2007.

Padmanabhan said that another 7000 are proposed to be recruited in the second
quarter.

Stating that TCS had achieved the first-day slot for campus interviews in the
country this year for engineering graduates, MCAs, graduates and post-graduates

in Mathematics and computer science, he said the same concept would be

replicated overseas by tie-ups with educational institutions such as the

National University of Singapore, Budapest Technical University and other

institutions in China and Hungary.

“Consultancy operations and BPO has grown 100 percent last year and they would
play an important role in the current fiscal,” Padmanabhan added.
