PUNE: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today announced its plans to develop its
biggest campus at the 50-acre land at Hinjewadi Phase III, which is part of an
MIDC promoted Special Economic Zone.
According to Abid Ali Neemuchwala, general manager, head TCS western region, the
campus would be completed in phases within 18 to 24 months.
While addressing media persons through video conferencing, he said that the Pune
center would focus on several verticals like banking and financial services,
Hi-tech services, manufacturing and engineering vertical and some service areas
would be catered too.
The Pune facility will have 1000 people by the year-end.
TCS is also looking at a tier II Indian city to set up infrastructure where it
will make business sense. The criterion for setting up center in any tier II
cities would be sound infrastructure, connectivity and good educational
institutions.
Currently no BPO services would be provided from the Hinjewadi campus as the BPO
service of TCS is delivered from Mumbai for western India. TCS would later
consider providing BPO services from Hinjewadi.
