HYDERABAD: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) would expand its operations in Hyderabad by setting up a 15,000-seater development center with an investment of Rs. 400 crore. The numero uno IT company in the country has been granted 75 acres of land in Adibatla village, near the city outskirts.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed between the Andhra Pradesh government and TCS. The space provided to TCS will come under the ambit of Special Economic Zone with state government’s policy of incentives also applicable. TCS plans to carry out operations in hi-tech, engineering and healthcare from the new center in Hyderabad.
TCS plans to deploy 2500 professionals for its operation in Hyderabad in addition to the already existing 5000 in the city. Stating that Hyderabad would develop into a bigger facility in the next few years, Mahalingam said that Hyderabad would play a significant role in TCS’ overall growth.
Mahalingam also stated that the company is planning its expansion in Tier II cities. He added that the company would be continuously pursuing its expansion plans
I think expansion will be a continued process. Not just headcount we will also add more capabilities,’’ said Mahalingam.
V Rajanna, regional head, TCS, Andhra Pradesh and Shailendra Kumar Joshi, IT secretary, government of AP signed the MoU. Also present at the signing ceremony were state chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, S Mahalingam, chief financial officer and Sabitha Reddy, minister of information technology and communications here today.
