BANGALORE: Tata Consultancy Services has launched its banking package QUARTZa
at ecetra Central European e-Finance AG. QUARTZa is a new generation banking
software developed jointly by TCS and TKS-Teknosoft SA.
With "brokerjet" (www.brokerjet.at) that is based also on QUARTZ
system, ecetra is bringing an e-brokerage product for stock exchange
professionals to the market. ecetra is a member of the Austrian Erste Bank
Group, the leading retail bank in Central Europe.
"One key element for selecting QUARTZa was that it enables us to provide
our services 7 days by 24 hours, which is critical today if you want to respond
to the needs of an increasingly demanding international clientele. QUARTZa is a
truly state-of-the-art product which serves our requirements perfectly. Its
implementation went extremely well thanks to the combined efforts of the project
team", said Austrian Erste Bank Group senior manager Robert Ransauer.
"Quartz has tremendous scope for the banking and finance industry
globally and especially for Internet banks. Quartz has the ability to provide
superior service quality and productivity to automate front, back and middle
level office function and could also be used by small and middle-sized banks.
The product was the result of TCS’ banking expertise and superior
technological experience in this domain," said TCS' Banking Products Group
Head Ganapathy Subramaniam.
Its modular architecture based on three-tier client server architecture makes
it easy to integrate third party products and solutions and is ideally suited
for the requirements of an e-bank. QUARTZa is currently being implemented in
various other sites in Switzerland and Europe.
The system was installed by a mixed team of Swiss banking experts of Tata
Consultancy Services and TKS Â Banking Solutions SA (TBS). The synergy between
the three different parties involved  the Austrian bank, the Swiss Solution
provider and TCS’ expertise  proved a very powerful combination and made it
possible to install from scratch a new bank in record time.
