HYDERABAD: The Twin Cities Computers Dealers Association (TCCDA) has formally launched its website www.tccda.com. Andhra Pradesh IT&C principal secretary JC Mohanty and the deputy commissioner of state for commercial taxes T Usha Reddy were also present at the launch.

Addressing the gathering, Mohanty urged committee members to add more services and offerings and innovate further to help the common man. He added that such associations should be spread across the state and not just limited to certain cities.

He requested the reseller fraternity to come out with viable options where in the PC usage will drastically increase. "Our government is taking numerous measures to boost IT hardware manufacturing and the state will soon witness the country's first hardware plant in Hyderabad. This initiative will certainly help the channel community," Mohanty noted.

Elaborating the highlights of the website, TCCDA VP Ashish Gandhi said, "We are giving 2Mb webspace for all the members of the association. Besides another interesting feature is 'Alerts'-that updates the members on details such as thefts and frauds, warranty problems etc."

He added, "This website is not just for the channel community but our customers too can make use of it. The website lists out various service centers as set up in the city to ease customers. We have other features like discussion boards, technical information, etc., which will prove to be useful."

Earlier, deliberating her speech, Reddy requested resellers to fine tune their processes and gear up to comply with VAT solution. "It's surprising to note the opinion poll on readiness of the state to implement VAT on TCCDA website. Let me assure you that irrespective of other states implement it or not, the Andhra Pradesh government is all for it and one need not have any doubts on the implementation," she said.
