Tata Telecom becomes Avaya GlobalConnect

MUMBAI: Tata Telecom Ltd at its board meeting reconstituted its board of directors and subsequently, approved the proposal to renamed the company as Avaya GlobalConnect Ltd, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.


The new board of the company will include, Mark Leigh (President, Avaya Asia Pacific), Niru Mehta (Vice Chairman, Tata Telecom), David P Johnson (Group VP, Small & Medium Business Solutions, Avaya), Francis M Scricco (Group VP, Avaya Global Services), Amar Pai (VP, Finance Operations & Corporate Controller, Avaya), S Ramakrishnan (MD, Tata Teleservices), Pradeep Mallick (Adviser & Mentor to several companies) and CB Bhave (MD, National Securities Depository Ltd).


The newly appointed board also elected Leigh as the new chairman of the re-christened entity, Avaya GlobalConnect Ltd. The transaction between the Tatas and Avaya has been completed today and the Board has taken note of the same.



Leigh said, "India is fast becoming a force to reckon with in the global markets. Over the years, the company has exhibited a 26 percent CAGR and will continue to maintain a 22 percent -25 percent CAGR in the years to come. I am confident that together Avaya GlobalConnect and Avaya will deliver superior value proposition for all stakeholders."



Avaya GlobalConnect will continue to offer end-to-end converged communications solutions to its customers. Supported by its already existing 24x7 India sales team and certified Avaya professionals, the customers will benefit from the company's partnerships for world-class technology solutions and services.
