Tata Tele crosses 75 mn subscribers mark

HYDERBAD: Tata Teleservices Limited, telecom service provider, today announced that it has added 2.32 million new subscribers (wireless and wireline) in the month of July 2010 to cross the 75 million subscribers’ milestone.

The company closed the month of July with a total of 76,058,908 million subscribers (wireless and wire line), as on 31 July 2010, said a press release.

The crossing of the 75-million-subscribers’ mark by Tata Teleservices Limited and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited has shown a subscriber growth rate of more than 100 per cent in the last 12 months from 38 million subscribers in July 2009, the release added.

Anil Sardana, managing director of Tata Teleservices Limited, said: “We thank and appreciate every subscriber’s faith in us as a transparent, caring and efficient telecom services company. With each new milestone crossed, we have raised our own internal benchmarks–in keeping with our larger objective of consistently enhancing and improving our standards, and of providing our customers with differentiated and lifestyle-impacting telecom services.”

He added that the achievement also bears testimony to the efforts that have been put into making their network and services the best in the industry–they would continue to innovate and evolve, providing world-best products and offerings to their subscribers.
