NEW DELHI: Tata Interactive Systems (TIS), a e-learning firm, has acquired two companies - Tertia Edusoft AG in Switzerland and Tertia Edusoft GmbH in Germany - from the Tertia Group, provider of human resources management solutions in Germany.
This acquisition comes close on the heels of the successful launch and consolidation of TIS's operations in Japan, and is expected to significantly enhance their global footprint - a span that now includes the US and Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, the UAE, Japan, South Africa, India and Mainland Europe.
"This is a significant step for us in our quest for global leadership in e-learning. These two companies provide us the impetus to pursue high growth opportunities in the European market. Now we can offer an even wider range of offerings to our customers in Europe, and in the rest of the world," said Sanjaya Sharma, CEO of TIS.
Tertia Edusoft 's TOPSIM range works in synergy with TIS's global presence in the simulations segment. TIS has already developed a library of about 200 SimBLs (Simulation-based Learning Objects) on diverse topics - from management and accounting to psychology and critical thinking — that are being used by more than 60,000 students and 25,000 licensees around the world.
"With the coming together of SimBLs and TOPSIM, we are poised to become a world leader in simulations," added Sharma.
