Tata Indicom added 56,541 customers during the month of October 2005 leaving behind Airtel at 16.33 per cent with 33,340 new customer wins followed by 15.41 per cent of MTNL.

The Non Stop Mobile service also offers free roaming in over 1500 locations in the country, which is one of the major reasons for its increase in subscriber base. Marketing Head, Tata Indicom Vijay Sehgal said that it offers low cost call rates both for local and long distance calls through this new service.

The recharge coupons are available from Rs. 50 with 100 percent talk time, which has attracted low-end customers leading to this increase.

“The main attraction of this scheme is the free incoming for two years, which is being offered only by us. Apart from this we have the free all India roaming which has received enthusiastic response from the customers,” Sehgal said.

Nationally, Tata Teleservices has successfully crossed six-million customer mark. For the second month in the row, Tata Indicom share of net additions is more than 25%.

Speaking about extending the offer for longer duration, Sehgal said that they are yet to decide on it. The non-stop mobile offer of free incoming for two years was initially valid till November 30. However, Tata is expecting huge response from the consumers in the following month.
