Tata Indicom launches MaiLite for BlackBerry users

NEW DELHI: Indian telecom service provider Tata Teleservices today announced the launch of the new Tata Indicom MaiLite data plan for BlackBerry service subscribers.

This new Silver data plan provides customers with unlimited data for accessing up to 10 supported email accounts, plus an optional BlackBerry email address, and instant messaging (IM) services at a monthly rate of just Rs. 299, said a press release.

The MaiLite is a new rate plan available for the BlackBerry 8830 and BlackBerry 8703e smartphones. Tata Indicom also said that BlackBerry 8703e is now available from Tata Indicom for Rs.9990.

Pradeep Dwivedi, senior vice president, marketing, Tata Teleservices Limited said, “This is a paradigm shift in the proliferation of email access by mobile users. I am confident that this proposition will interest a broad range of users and we are glad to offer them a competitive tariff and handset price for the BlackBerry solution.”

Frenny Bawa, vice president India, Research In Motion said the plan would significantly help in broadening the reach of BlackBerry smartphones and services in India.
