"The launch of 'Tata Indicom mobile Internet Radio' marks another important milestone in our series of First. It leverages the superior CDMA 1X technology and harnesses the rich application experience of BREW to deliver a rich streaming experience, making it the most comprehensive radio subscription service of its kind,” said Pankaj Sethi, president of value added services, Tata Teleservices Ltd.

“Although the ability to listen to radio on the cell phone is not new, the uniqueness of 'Tata Indicom Mobile Internet Radio' lies in the easy access to the widest selection of radio content in the universally compatible recognizable MP3 format,” Sethi added.

It is initially available on Motorazr V3C, Samsung Wideo and Motorola World Phone with a subscription charge of Rs 25 for 15 days across all Tata Indicom's circles, even in those markets where FM services haven't commenced. Eventually the services would be made available even on low-end BREW enabled handsets, Tata Indicom said in a statement.
