Tata Indicom cuts ISD rates by 70%

NEW DELHI: Subscribers of Tata Indicom can have a blast during this festival season as the company has announced a cut of up to 70 per cent in its international long-distance tariffs for calls to the US, Canada and Europe celebrating the festival of lights.

As a result of the reduction in tariff rates, Tata Indicom landline, FWT and payphone customers in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Gujarat and Maharashtra (excluding Mumbai) can now make calls to the US, Canada and Europe at Rs 9.60 per minute, down from Rs 24 per minute.



The offer allows a special rate for calls to the UK at Rs 7.20 per minute. The pulse rate for calls to the UK would be 10 seconds while that for the US, Canada and rest of Europe would be 7.5 seconds.



Tata Indicom landline, FWT & payphone subscribers in Mumbai and Delhi can call US, Canada and Europe at a rate of Rs 14.40 per minute, which is a reduction of 40 percent. Tata Indicom mobile customers can now call the US, Canada and Europe at Rs 8 per minute at a pulse rate of 60 seconds. The new tariffs, which will be effective from October 25, 2003, will be applicable for a period of a month.



Tata Teleservices Ltd MD S Ramakrishnan said, "The festive season invariably livens one's spirit and evokes a strong sense of affinity towards family & friends. These special promotional tariffs are being offered specially with a view to enable the Tata Indicom family to seamlessly access their family, friends and associates overseas during this festive season".
