NEW DELHI: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Tatas-controlled CMC have jointly bagged the project for the Integrated Port Management System from Adani Ports Ltd for computerization of their bulk cargo needs for the port established in Mundra in Kutch district in Gujarat.
The Adanis selected the TCS-CMC combine after an extensive search for an international port operation system. Adani is amongst the first private port set up in India with capabilities of bulk and container handling facilities having drafts deep enough to accommodate large vessels.
TCS will be executing this project with support from CMC. TCS will contribute its rich experience in executing and maintaining mission critical projects, while CMC has proven competencies in the Ports & Cargo area for the last decade. CMC will also update their (Cargo Logistics Management) product to meet the requirements of ports in India and abroad.
Commenting on the win, Atul Takle, Vice President, TCS, said, "This is a very significant project and the critical system is scheduled to go live within a few months. TCS and CMC will continue to jointly target other major parts in India, both in the government as well as the private sector with focus on the ports in the Asia Pacific region."
