Tata Elxsi’s H1 turnover flat, profits up

BANGALORE: Bangalore-based Tata Elxsi Ltd., part of the Tata group, has

posted a turnover of Rs 61.5 crore for the half-year ended September 2000,

registering a modest 13 per cent increase over its turnover in the corresponding

period last year. But, the company’s profit before tax skyrocketed by a

whopping 307 per cent Rs 5.10 crore, as against Rs 1.25 crore for the

corresponding period last year.

In the last quarter, the company set up an office in Europe and its software

operations received the SEI CMM Level 5 certification.
