BANGALORE: Tata Elxsi Limited (TEL) has signed a partnership agreement with Automotive Multimedia Interface Collaboration (AMI-C), the prominent global standardization body. As a key contributing organization, TEL will provide technology expertise for proof of concept vehicles as per the Telematics and Infotainment standards and specifications defined by AMI-C.
Tata Elxsi offers hardware and software solutions for the automotive electronics' industry using its' Inside The Box Technologies. "TEL's partnership with AMI-C underlines our commitment to the automotive market. This association will help us significantly increase value to vehicle manufacturers and tier-1 suppliers of automotive electronic parts", said TEL General Manager - World Wide Sales & Marketing S Ramakrishnan. "This also provides an added impetus to our business focus, that of providing core technology in the Product R&D domain."

AMI-C, works towards restructuring the way automotive and consumer electronics systems interaction, through development, promotion and standardization of a common, open interface. During the process, the specifications arrived at will provide for interoperability and flexibility capabilities, enabling consumers to use a wide variety of emerging media, computing and communication devices in their vehicles.
