Tata Comm gets on track with Formula One

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Tata Communications today announced in a video cast that it has entered into multi-layer technology partnership with Formula One.

With this deal, Tata has become the latter’s official connectivity provider and technology supplier as well as Web hosting and content delivery network.

The company said that they would use their undersea cable and IT networks to transmit data from the 20 Grand Prix locations as the circuit tours the globe and also support the Formula1.com website.

Tata Communications CEO and MD Vinod Kumar said that they have robust communications system with data centers in 42 countries. “Formula One has most cutting edge technology requirement. We are working closely with their technology team,” he said.

Kumar said that their partnership will go long way. “We have made strategic investments in past and the time has come to demonstrate the best in technology,” he added.

Tata will provide backbone infrastructure, carrier services and critical IT infrastructure co-locator. The company also said that it’s one of its high profile customers.
