The relationship would leverage each company's colocation space in their respective countries of operation, allowing Telx customers requiring colocation space in India, EMEA, Asia and specific US sites to obtain space in Tata Communication data center with Telx acting as a single point of contact for contractual agreements, said a press release.

Tata Communications' customers requiring US data center space or access to the Telx Internet exchange would be able to do so using their account management team as their facilitator.

Vinod Kumar, president and COO, Tata Communications said, “This agreement enables Tata Communications to leverage its position of strength in the global communications market while extending its reach in US market through local facilities of Telx.”

"We continually strive to partner with well established providers. By forging this strategic alliance with Tata Communications, we are to better serve our clients with additional footprint options and a broader services mix that are critical to their business," Telx CEO Eric Shepcaro said.

The two companies would also work together to package joint solutions, including Tata Communications' managed security, data center services and transformation services to enhance capabilities offered to their shared clients, added the release.
