Tata Comm inks voice services deal with BT

DUBAI, UAE:Tata Communications, a provider in telecommunication services, recently announced that its has entered in to a voice services agreement with BT Group that would allow two of the partners of voice and IP services to benefit from shared resources as part of a global supply arrangement.

As per media reports, Tata Communications through the five-year agreement would become BT's primary supplier of International Direct Dial (IDD) and other voice termination services outside BT's own footprint countries.

BT would become Tata Communications' main distribution channel for its IDD traffic into the UK, expanding into other markets across Europe as the relationship matures, it added.

As per the agreement, the relationship would allow BT and Tata Communications to benefit from their respective global networks and advantageous cost structures.

BT would also have access to Tata Communications' routing capabilities and on-line management systems providing greater economies of scale that will improve BT's competitiveness in the international calls market.

Michel Guyot, president, Tata Communications (Global Voice Solutions) said, "We are proud to become BT's primary supplier of international voice termination services. The agreement will increase both partners' competitiveness and will enhance our respective service offerings."
