TANDBERG launches R&D center in Bangalore

BANGALORE, INDIA: TANDBERG, a provider of telepresence, high-definition videoconferencing and mobile video solutions, today announced the launch of its research and development (R&D) technology center in Bangalore.

The center, TANDBERG’s first R&D facility in India, will drive the development of innovative technology solutions in the area of video communications.

The R&D center will create new intellectual properties for TANDBERG and develop next-generation video communications solutions.

The facility, named TANDBERG Technology India Private Limited, is already incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of TANDBERG, said the company in a statement. The center, situated in the Central Business District of Bangalore, will showcase TANDBERG’s entire range of telepresence and high-definition videoconferencing solutions and house audio, video and hardware labs.

Pradeep Bardia will lead the center as a director. Earlier, Bardia was with Texas Instruments in the US managing the video telephony business. Lars Erik Mobæk, director technology at TANDBERG, will lead the R&D activities.

The India R&D center will be TANDBERG’s fourth such facility worldwide. The other three are situated in Oslo, London and New Zealand.
