NEW DELHI: GLinkedwith GmbH, a German company dealing in Wireless Application
Protocol (WAP)-enabled services and solutions, has introduced Tamino Mobile
Office in alliance with its partner Software AG. Tamino Mobile Office is a
software suite that transforms a mobile phone into an efficient office manager.
Mobile users can use it to consult and update the in-house WAP server
containing addresses and information on business contacts and appointments. In
addition to these, they can also keep track of the list of appointments of a
fellow worker on their WAP enabled mobile phones.
Integration of memos and email services ensures that the mobile user will
always have access to information, even while he is in transit. The introductory
price is Rs 5 lakh for a maximum of five users. With the increase in the number
of users and customization, the cost will also proportionately escalate.
Though Glinkedwith launched its operations in India formally last month, the
German firm will stick to its indirect sales and partnership strategy that has
proved successful in Europe and other parts of the world.
The company plans to create Qualified Business Alliances (QBAs) throughout
the country by tying up with companies that have the knowledge and prior
technical expertise to market the product.
System integrators, solution providers, and independent software vendors are
expected to evince interest in the product. The company will initially target
the metros but plans to spread its network through the rest of the country soon.
The product will be targeted at corporate executives, media persons and
stockbrokers.
