Tally's Pragati receives good response

BANGALORE, INDIA: Tally India's 'Pragati', which has enabled students acquire industry-relevant skills and earn an income, has also received tremendous response and interest from unemployed youth, homemakers, entrepreneurs and even accounting professionals.

A notable aspect of the programme has been registrations by students from non-commerce streams, a reflection of the popularity of the accounting and financial courses in business education, a release stated.

"The response to Pragati and its success thereof is a testimony to the entrepreneurial spirit of Indian students. It proves that students have been able to apply their knowledge of Tally in a profitable way," said Avinash Gupta, CEO, Global Education and Training Business, Tally (India) Private Limited.

"The impressive response to the programme and kindling of entrepreneurial spirit among students is indeed a significant trend for the country. The proven performance in the marketplace points to the huge popularity of Tally and its dominant position as a business accounting and inventory management software. Tally's 'Pragati' is expected to significantly contribute to fulfilling the demand for certified accounting professionals," he added.

Tally aims to reach out to a million students across the country through Pragati and has deployed a field force of 5,500 people to implement the programme. Till date, the Tally field force has been able to interact with close to 1.25 lakhs students across the country.

Last date extended

Tally has also announced the extension of last date for registration for the Pragati 'Earn While You Learn' programme to November 30, 2007. Currently, students who have enrolled under the Tally Pragati programme have earned over Rs. 31 lakhs.
