LOS ALTOS, USA: Talend, the first provider of open source data integration software, has announced the availability of MaxDB integration within Talend’s open source data integration solutions, Talend Open Studio, Talend On Demand and Talend Integration Suite.
The new set of connectors enables users, developers and partners of MaxDB, the SAP database, to integrate MaxDB deployments with third-party databases and applications without requiring additional development.
Talend Open Studio, Talend’s flagship product, has been downloaded over 250,000 times since its launch in late 2006. The integration capabilities provided by Talend’s solutions comprise ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) functionality for including MaxDB data in Business Intelligence applications, synchronization and replication of MaxDB data with other systems, and migration to MaxDB. Talend customers using MaxDB in the information system, either as part of SAP or a separate deployment, will be able to use the newly available connector as a source or target of their data integration processes.
“Talend provides an exceptional data integration solution that combines ideally with MaxDB for several different applications,” said Jürgen Höhe, founder of the Open MaxDB Group. “We are excited to collaborate with Talend to build these connectors and help the vast MaxDB community benefit from data integration technology. Talend is showing a real commitment to developing connectivity to relevant technologies from which both the MaxDB community and the SAP users will benefit.”
“The Open MaxDB Group and Talend are both strongly committed to making meaningful contributions to the open source community, providing robust solutions that rival proprietary solutions in both features and performance,” said Fabrice Bonan, co-founder and chief operating officer at Talend. “At the same time, Talend is delivering the only connector for MaxDB offerings, enabling end users to use it as a source or target of their data integration processes for integrating SAP data with other essential parts of the information system.”
With its intuitive easy-to-use graphical environment, Talend’s data integration solutions simplify development and speed up deployment while empowering enterprise information management teams to select the architecture that makes sense for their unique needs. Unlike commercial data integration software that requires steep initial investment and relies heavily on IT resources for full-time management of software maintenance and upgrades, Talend Open Studio is provided at no cost under a GPL license while Talend Integration Suite and Talend On Demand are offered as a subscription. Furthermore, the ramp-up costs and ongoing development and maintenance costs are sharply reduced by the solution’s embrace of open standards and architectural options.
