BANGALORE, INDIA: Vijay Kumar, a 26 year old Army Subedar, has done the country proud by winning a Silver medal in the 25-meter rapid fire pistol event at the London Olympics 2012.

Indians who were disappointed after Joydeep Karmakar finished fourth in the 50 meters rifle shoot, are now ecstatic over the victory of Vijay Kumar.

The page has already received 1,515 likes and messages congratulating him on his Silver medal are increasing by the minute.

Especially people in the Indian Army seem to be proud of his achievement today. ''Army chief Gen Bikram Singh congratulates Vijay Kumar. Says, "Befitting achievement in year when theme is Army - Strength of theNation," says a tweet.

''I am so proud to be Indian today, so proud to be from the Indian Army and so proud to represent Indian Shooting; thank you Vijay Kumar :),'' tweeted an overjoyed Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who won a Silver medal in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
