The Western Union Money Transfer service can be accessed through King’s Town Bank’s online banking portal for the first time in Taiwan, it adds.

“With Western Union1, our online banking customers will be able to receive or send money electronically directly into or from their bank accounts within minutes2,” said King’s Town Bank. “The new service also allows our bank customers to pre-register recipients of money transfers, providing them with added convenience of completing a transaction at their own time and place via the internet.

“Reliability is a fundamental aspect in all money matters regardless of the reason for sending money — as regular financial support and living expenses, a cash gift for someone special or for saving. Western Union is a global leader in money transfers, providing money transfer services for over 135 years and operating as a global brand for 160 years. King’s Town Bank has worked with Western Union for 5 years, offering cash-to-cash money transfer services at our retail branches across Taiwan, and now we are offering our customers an alternative channel.”

“In Taiwan, consumers are rapidly embracing new technologies. Western Union’s strategy to provide new ways to send and receive international money transfers is about meeting the changing preferences of existing consumers as well as attracting new consumers,” said Chris Yau, regional director, Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau, Western Union.
