FREMONT, USA & TOKYO, JAPAN: Tactus Technology Inc., the acknowledged leader in on-demand tactile surfaces, and Ryoyo Electro Corp. (Tokyo), one of Japan's leading electronics suppliers, announced a strategic partnership.
Ryoyo has made a strategic investment in Tactus as part of the company's Series B financing round and has been selected by Tactus as its exclusive sales partner and distributor in Japan.
Tactus' dynamic surfaces are a dramatic innovation in the Touch 2.0 revolution that consumers and OEMs are eagerly awaiting: screens that transform from a flat virtual interface into a physical three-dimensional interface when needed.
"Japanese OEMs lead the world in several product categories, including gaming, smart devices, cameras and imaging, as well as automotive solutions," said Dr. Craig Ciesla, CEO and co-founder of Tactus. "Ryoyo's success in working with the leading Japanese OEMs across multiple component offerings and their significant expertise in selling a broad range of solutions makes them an ideal partner and we are very excited to be working with them."
"Tactus is the world leader in tactile touch solutions and we are very honored to be their exclusive Japanese partner," said Satoru Fukumoto, executive GM of sales promotion at Ryoyo. "We believe the next-generation of smart phones, tablets and CE devices from the top Japanese manufacturers will be ground-breaking through their incorporation of Tactus technology, and our investment in the company reflects our outlook."
