Systems America announces eCom initiative

BANGALORE: Systems America, part of the US based Systems America, has

launched XMLCommerce Network, an initiative towards real-time B2B eCommerce

applications. XMLCommerce Network’s integration and transaction service will

be delivered globally from Systems America e-innovation center located at ITPL,

Bangalore.

XMLCommerce Network software is a new category of B2B eCommerce application

that will enable users to work more closely with their customers, suppliers and

other business partners through real-time exchange of information and data. It

permits users to integrate their existing enterprise systems with those of their

business partners, regardless of the computing platform. Apart from this,

XMLCommerce Network delivers eCommerce platform for value-added services. The

platform consists of a hosted technology foundation to manage multi-channel and

customer relationships and create specific pricing, promotions and discount

programs with businesses.

Speaking about the initiative, Systems America (India) chairman and CEO Adesh

Tyagi said, "With this XMLCommerce Network initiative, Systems America is

ready to tap the B2B eCommerce market, which is estimated at over $1.3 trillion

by 2003. The Internet commerce application market is estimated to over $13

billion by 2003. In this scenario, XMLCommerce Network will provide our

customers with integrated direct link to buyers and suppliers, connecting them

to major B2B marketplaces and enabling real time interactive communication

through the Internet, regardless of existing infrastructure."

Systems America, which started its India operations in 1998-99 has recorded a

turnover of Rs 13.8 crore for 1999-2000 with profits of Rs 3.8 crore. Currently,

200 engineers are working in the company whose Indian offices are located in

Delhi and Bangalore in India.
