NEW DELHI: Systat Software Inc., a developer and supplier of statistical and data analysis tools, has released SYSTAT version 10.2. The software is a statistical program, which combines a vast selection of reliable and mathematically sound statistical tests with extensive technical graphs.

SYSTAT Version 10.2 has expanded its regression suite by including rank and ridge regression routines. Rank regression is a non-parametric technique that estimates regression coefficients by minimizing a certain ranked-residual-weighted sum of absolute values of residuals; it is useful when the usual assumptions of regression analysis are not tenable.

Ridge regression is used in Bayesian contexts and in situations of multicollinearity, by modifying the method of least squares to produce shrunken and biased estimators of regression coefficients. Further two new statistical options to calculate N-tiles and percentiles have been added and BMDP support has been included in this version.

SYSTAT, an award winning scientific data analysis software for technical professionals, was recently acquired by Systat Software Inc. from SPSS Science (a unit of SPSS Inc.), along with other scientific products namely TableCurve 2D, TableCurve 3D and PeakFit, that gives some of the best 2-D, 3-D and Peak graphical representation of data. These products were acquired from US-based scientific software development company, AISN Technologies.
