DS photo allows users to upload photo stored on their iPhone or iPod touch to the Disk Station easily while instantly sharing it with anyone online, said a press release.

Users can upload photo to an existing album or create a new one, and customize the photo title and description.

Uploaded photos are instantly available on the web-based Synology Photo Station 3 to be viewed with a desktop computer, iPhone, or Windows Mobile.

"The launch of DS photo reflects our commitment to providing solutions for users to connect various digital contents with the Disk Station flexibly, as well as sharing them out creatively," said Edward Lin, marketing director of Synology.

The DS photo works with Synology Disk Station 2.2 firmware. The beta of DSM 2.2 firmware is now available for public's evaluation and its official version is expected to be released in September 2009.
