PUNE: Synechron, a provider of IT solutions and services with a domain focus on BFSI, is mulling on a clubbed foray in Insurance vertical that will link KPO and Software development together. This move would replicate the success of its mortgage KPO that has been a complement to its Software unit too. The first phase of a pilot project with a US insurance major is successfully over and the company would start hiring more people as it moves on to the next phase.

Tanveer Saulat, MD, India Operations added, “There was a significant overlap between the KPO and Software divisions in our mortgage vertical. The hands-on knowledge on the KPO side was a key input for people working in the software division. We intend to replicate that synergy in insurance too.”

Notable recruitment spree would happen in January and February and both KPO and Software divisions are expected to see 100 per cent growth. The KPO unit currently packs 50 people while the Software unit is around 650 people. The total pool will be increased to 800 to 2000 people by March 2008 and can grow further too.
