Symantec India MD Vishal Dhupar quits

BANGALORE, INDIA: Vishal Dhupar, managing director of Symantec India, has put in his papers to pursue career ahead of Symantec.

A veteran in the IT industry, Vishal joined Symantec in 2005, where he was responsible for development and execution of the country’s strategic plans to achieve and exceed business targets and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Confirming his move the official statement from Symantec said that vice president of Asia South Region Symantec, Eric Hoh, would be the India head, while Symantec is actively looking for a new leader.

“Vishal Dhupar, will be leaving Symantec on October 12, 2010 to pursue new career aspirations,” read the statement. “Vishal has led the India team for more than five years and during that time has helped to establish Symantec as a trusted provider of security, storage and systems management solutions for customers throughout the India market. We thank Vishal for all his contributions and wish him every success for the future.”

Vishal joined Symantec from Autodesk where he led the Indian operations as managing director for the Autodesk Design Solutions Group (DSG) business in SAARC.

Previously, Vishal was director of sales at Sun Microsystems India. He joined Sun as general manager responsible for the manufacturing and energy sectors. With the stellar results he achieved for the company he was promoted to director level. Over his six years at Sun, Vishal was one of the few Sun employees to have won the coveted Sunrise Award, a reward for the top performers across the world, five years in a row.
