Symantec forms new business strategy

MUMBAI: Following the acquisition of Veritas, Symatec has formed a new business strategy to tackle storage and security aspects.

The 'new' Symantec would be more on safeguarding information from the desktop to the data center. The company will focus on full spectrum of customers that include consumers, small businesses, mid-size business, enterprise and government with full menu of security, storage, availability and performance products. This was unveiled here at the company's annual event, 'Symantecvision'.

In his keynote, Steven Leonard, senior vice-president, Asia-Pacific and Japan, said, “Our vision is to integrate information and take more holistic view of information management. The powerful new Symantec will help partners in strengthening product support, advancing consulting services, extending market coverage through partners and investing in local engineering centers.”

The new Symantec will have portfolio to tackle all security related issues and this include email security also. The solution is aimed at protecting systems from email-generated threats. It will also help manage the increasing cost of storage for email and meet compliance and risk management requirements.

The event gave company's partners and developers an overview of company's new role in security and storage markets.
