Symantec appoints Joy Ghosh as Country Manager, Indian operations

NEW DELHI, September 9 : Symantec Corporation, has announced the

appointment of Joy Ghosh as the new Country Manager for its India

operations. Ghosh will be based in Mumbai and his appointment will be

effective immediately. He will head Symantec's sales and marketing

activities in India and will set up Symantec's India office by October

1999.

"We are pleased to have Joy on board as our Country Manager and

head our operations in India. Joy's experience in the Indian market will

help service local customers better and improve ties with channel

partners," said Symantec South East Asia Regional Sales and Marketing

Manager Kerrie-Anne Turner.

Ghosh has over nine years experience in the IT and telecom industries.

Prior to joining Symantec, he was Business Manager at Comsat Max in Mumbai

and was instrumental in setting up the company's operations in the Eastern

region. He also gained valuable experience during his stint at Wipro

Infotech. Ghosh has a degree in Electronics & Power Engineering from

Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering, Nagpur and completed his MBA

from IIM, Calcutta.
