Swisscom joins hands with Subex

BANGALORE, INDIA: Subex Limited, a provider of operations and business support systems (OSS/BSS), announced that it had entered a partnership with Swisscom, a telecommunications provider in Switzerland, to co-operate in the field of fraud management.

As per the agreement Nikira Fraud Management System, a part of Subex’s integrated suite of revenue maximization applications forming the Revenue Operations Center (ROC), would be deployed to detect fraud across its current and next generation fixed and mobile networks.

Kurt Meyer, Chief Risk Officer, Swisscom (Switzerland) Ltd., said: “At Swisscom (Switzerland) Ltd. we believe that fraud management is to take a different turn, especially in the light of globalisation, converging technologies, hostile markets and continuous product innovation. We chose Subex and the Nikira Fraud Management Solution (FMS) because of Nikira’s comprehensive functional coverage and Subex’ high commitment to our new innovative risk-reward partnership model, where Subex is sharing the same objectives as Swisscom and will commercially benefit from the success of its Nikira FMS implementation."

The main objective of this model is to establish goal congruency between Subex and Swisscom, with the core belief being that the success of future fraud combating depends on a long-term commitment to close co-operation between operators and vendors. Nikira would help in:

·         Early detection of fraud and reduction of EFL (Effective Fraud Loss)

·         Improving the quality of fraud-alarms, (low false positive rate)

·         Coverage of the comprehensive fraud risk portfolio (i.e. avoiding blind spots)
