Swedish ICT cos seeks to expand in India

NEW DELHI: Swedish ICT firms are looking at India as a strategic destination and are hoping to expand their operations in the country.

A delegation from Sweden is currently in India and is scheduled to meet Indian mobile network operators.

According to Fredrik Wellerstrand, account manager, Sales and Business Development, Asia Pacific, Mobilaris, and a member of the delegation, "We are currently looking at the Indian market, primarily because of the significant growth of the mobile phone subscribers and vast potential in the competitive landscape of business innovation market regarding Wireless Technology and Service."

Dusyant Patel, CEO, Mobispine added, "We are meeting various players in the field of Telecom, Wireless Industry and Content, particularly interesting would be a meeting with Telecom operators, Broadcasting companies & Venture Capitalists."

The delegation will meet officials from BSNL, Vodaphone Essar, Reliance Telecom, Tata Indicom, Spice Telecom, etc. It will also interact with a few Indian software and product companies working with automotive, avionics, finance, health care and telecom sectors and also some potential channel partners for Swedish firms in India.

The Swedish ICT delegation is exploring the possibility of identifying potential channel partners, technology collaborators, potential customers and service providers in India. The delegation includes senior officials from Swedish companies like ACE Simulation, Aurorum Science Park, CDT/LTU , Delphi Law Firm, EIM Scandinavia AB, Kiwok, Mobilaris, Mobispine, Scand India Ventures, Sollergren Consulting and Vinnova.
